Needle Tatting
This form of tatting is made using a needle rather than a shuttle. The stitches are formed on the needle, then the thread is drawn through to complete the ring or the chain. This method can be easier to learn as the stitches are not flipped. It produces a finished pieces that is a bit looser than shuttle tatting, and has a slightly padded look. Nearly any pattern that is written for shuttle tatting can be done with needle tatting and vise versa.
